Founded in 1987 by Doug Liman (director of The Bourne Identity), Dave Bartis (producer of The O.C.), and Steve Klinenberg, the student organization formerly known as Brown Television (BTV) quickly became one of the most active student groups on Brown University's campus, and one of the best-equipped student television stations in the country

After transitioning from television broadcasting to an online streaming platform, BTV rebranded as Brown Motion Pictures (BMP) and has moved quickly towards becoming a top-tier student-run production house. Equipped with top-of-the-line prosumer-grade cameras, lights, and audio equipment, BMP continues to produce some of the highest quality student-made work of any university production outfit.
